Salus 56 Capilano
56 Capilano Drive is a four-story supportive housing building in Nepean, Ottawa. Completed in April, 2026, this apartment complex is Canada’s first “ageing-in-place community” that supports older adults navigating complex challenges with mental health and addictions, and/or are at-risk of homelessness.
56 Capilano offers 54 affordable studio apartments, including 8 units designated as barrier-free. The building is host to a variety of on-site support services, including individualized case management and occupational therapy, and other community space to combat social isolation.

This project is Phase 1 of the 56/58 Capilano Drive development. Phase 2 includes the construction of four townhomes on the adjacent lot at 58 Capilano, yielding 20 units with shared kitchen and bathroom spaces. This style of living is communal and more independent, but residents have access to the same amenities and community spaces within the apartment complex at 56 Capilano. Phase 2 is set to begin construction during summer, 2026.
