La Source (L’Arche Ottawa)
L’Arche Ottawa is a non-profit charity located in the Ottawa region serving people with developmental disabilities since 1972. L’Arche provides supported housing services in homes where people with and without developmental disabilities share life together. L’Arche Ottawa is proposing a re-development project on their currently owned site located at 844 Hare Avenue. The proposed re-development is a 2-storey, OBC Part 9 wood-framed construction, and will include 10 single room occupancy affordable housing units and extensive shared living space. Of the 10 units, 20% will be barrier-free to accomplish accessibility targets. Meeting these targets, along with a B-3 OBC classification, will help to accommodate the needs of L’Arche Ottawa’s members with a higher level of accessibility to ensure safety and functionality.
