Earlier this week, Cahdco was pleased to attend the official ground-breaking ceremony for Ottawa Salus’ newest supportive housing development at 56 Capilano Drive. One of the first of its kind, this project will enable older adults facing concurrent mental health and addiction challenges to age in place.
Many enthusiastic attendees braved the cold to celebrate this momentous occasion, including Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and Salus co-founders Dr. Alistair Catterson and former Mayor of Ottawa, Jackie Holzman.
Funded with the generous support of the City of Ottawa and CMHC’s Rapid Housing Initiative, this apartment building will offer 54 affordable studio apartments, including 8 barrier-free units for those with disabilities. Residents will also benefit from a variety of on-site services, including individualized case management and occupational therapy.
Cahdco is proud to work alongside Ottawa Salus, McDonald Brothers Construction, and CSV Architects on this important project.
