Veterans’ House is a 3-storey, 40-unit supportive housing development for homeless Veterans on the former CFB Rockcliffe Airbase in Ottawa. This is Multifaith Housing Initiative’s (MHI) fifth housing community and first house built exclusively for veterans who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
In 2013, MHI envisioned the project and sought out Cahdco for their Project Management expertise following the successful relationship that led to the development of the MHI Haven project, completed in 2017. For Veterans’ House, Cahdco was responsible for the procurement of consultants, engaging and coordinating meetings with diverse stakeholders, providing guidance to MHI on proposal creation, monitoring the project budget and keeping track of finances, securing funding and financing and reporting on any potential risks. The project was completed and occupied in 2021.
