The project in construction is a 4-storey, 35 unit, mixed affordable housing development with community services located on the ground floor. Residential uses include a mix of market rent (AMR) and subsidized rental units (BMR and ODSP) with studio, one, two and three bedroom units to meet the needs of priority groups including families, seniors, newcomers/ refugees, and women and children transitioning from supportive housing. The mixed housing model is intended to foster community and create flexibility for tenants with different needs.
The project is led by the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa and Christ Church Bells Corners (CCBC), with many unique partnerships at play. Cornerstone will provide administrative and property management services for the building. Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre and FAMSAC Food Cupboard will be tenant partners, with purpose-built space on the ground floor of the building to create a community service hub. The Community Resource Centre will also provide supports to tenants of ten units reserved for women referred by Cornerstone and Chrysalis House, a shelter for women escaping violence. Cahdco is providing project management expertise, Hobin Architecture is the architect, and Warlyn Construction Ltd are the construction managers on the project.
