CCOC STIRLING

Acting in their capacity as CCOC’s development department, members of the Cahdco team redeveloped the former biker bar in the west end known as the Stirling tavern into an affordable housing development. The success of this project depended on the cooperation of many local stakeholders: The Region waived development fees for non-profit projects; the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation provided RRAP funding for renovations; Human Resources Development provided funding through its homeless initiative, and through the Community Foundation of Ottawa Carleton, an amazing group of concerned citizens also rallied to provide $100,000.00 for the project.  With the cooperation of each of these partners, CCOC has been able to provide long term, stable affordable housing.  When we work together, it can be done.
