Graeme Hussey

President

Graeme Hussey is the Director of Housing Development for CCOC and President of Cahdco. In these roles Graeme is responsible for the management of Cahdco and leadership of CCOC affordable housing projects and during the past 10 years has assisted in the development of more then 1,000 affordable homes. Graeme’s educational background is in environmental engineering and project management, and he has 20 years’ experience developing and managing social enterprises in the affordable housing, social investment, and food security sectors. Graeme is treasurer and board director for Housing Services Corporation and member of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Green Municipal Fund (GMF) Council & Investment Committee. In these roles Graeme has supported the creation of the HSC Housing Investment Corporation (HiC) and the GMF Sustainable Affordable Housing Initiative.

Mark Sider

Senior Project Manager

Mark Sider is the Senior Project Manager for Cahdco. From offices in Toronto and Ottawa, Mark brings many years of architectural practice. His focus has been in the design of institutional buildings, with a strong community engagement component. Renfrew County Courthouse expansion, the Richcraft Recreation Complex, and the Sir John A MacDonald Building are examples of his design work. Mark’s other passion is International Development. He and his wife Jane, have spent six years in Malawi, Africa working in development and food security, and most recently, five years in SE Asia, as Indonesia Directors for an International NGO. Currently, they live on site as hosts for Matthew House Ottawa, a transitional home for refugee claimants. Mark is excited in bringing his two passions together at Cahdco.

Cynthia is a Project Manager with Cahdco and CCOC, and manages development projects for a variety of non-profit and charitable client groups. Cynthia has experience in housing development, land-use and community planning, project coordination, and policy research and analysis (housing, planning and sustainable development). In her role as Project Manager, Cynthia coordinates project teams in creating innovative affordable housing solutions, featuring accessible and sustainable buildings (e.g., Passive House and LEED), as well as sensitive infill design in an urban context. She also has experience in securing and accessing project funding through various affordable housing programs and streams, including the City’s Action Ottawa program, CMHC’s RCFI and Co-Investment programs, Infrastructure Ontario financing, and conventional financing. Cynthia has experience working on a diverse range of projects, including: an acquisition/renovation supportive housing project for women; an addition to a mixed-income seniors’ development; studies exploring residential options for rooming house tenants; new development of supportive housing for homeless Veterans; and assisting a number of churches explore how they might contribute to affordable housing development.

Anna Froehlich is a Project Manager for Cahdco and CCOC. Anna has a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a diverse professional background in private sector development planning, municipal planning, community engagement, and international experience with the federal planning agency of Grenada. Beyond a commitment to developing affordable housing, she has a strong interest in opportunities for integrating affordability and environmental sustainability. Anna is a Registered Professional Planner and a Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners. Anna has worked on various projects for the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, and the Youth Services Bureau.

Kyla is a Project Manager with Cahdco and its related non-profit landlord, Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC). Kyla has a background in urban and regional planning with a focus on health and social planning. Her experience includes housing development, project coordination, financial modelling, procurement management, stakeholder coordination, partnership development, and reporting and presentation of key findings. From her previous work in the government she is highly skilled in data collection, critical thinking, research, analysis, and report preparation for complex material in a timely manner. In her role as Project Manager, Kyla is responsible for leading projects for a variety of non-profit and charitable organizations. Kyla’s work relates to exploring the feasibility of affordable housing development, undergoing design and development with consulting teams such as architecture firms and construction management companies, and representing the housing provider throughout the construction phase of the project. She enjoys working with non-profit housing organizations to help them achieve their mission to offer more housing at affordable rents. Kyla is passionate about the sector and actively seeks opportunities to learn from leading international examples, which brought her to Vienna, Austria in 2019 and the Netherlands in 2020. Kyla is currently working on the CCOC Forward and Cornerstone Housing for Women projects. She is also working with the Ottawa Community Land Trust (OCLT) and OSHN Shared Services.

Project Manager

Danna is a Project Manager at CCOC and Cahdco. She has extensive knowledge of land development with expertise in residential markets, development approval processes and relevant legislation at different levels of government. Danna’s educational background is in ecological economics and urban planning, developed through a Bachelor of Science at McGill University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning at Queen’s University. Danna is committed to supporting inclusive and equitable communities and understands that the success of a project is dependent on preparation, communication and collaboration. At Cahdco, Danna works on various projects including financing for capital repairs, the retrofit of community spaces and affordable housing feasibility studies for non-profits, charities and co-ops.

Budget and Cost Analyst

Kamal Dirie is a Budget and Cost Analyst for Cahdco and CCOC. In his role he coordinates the development of annual corporate operating budgets and prepares monthly financial statements. To this role he brings his experience in Financial Analysis and Project Accounting, as well as his education in Finance and Accounting from both Guelph Humber and Carleton University. Currently, Kamal is in the process of obtaining his Graduate degree and CPA designation.

Development Project Coordinator

Paige Waldock is a Development Project Coordinator for Cahdco and CCOC. She graduated from Carleton University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Engineering. She was in the third graduating class from the Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering Program. Cahdco was first drawn to her attention when she learned about the Beaver Barrack’s development and its geothermal system in school. She is proud to be working in the affordable housing sector. Paige has worked on the CCOC Arlington, and Forward Projects, MHI Veterans House Project, and many other projects in their feasibility stage.

Ellen McGowan is a Development Project Coordinator for Cahdco and CCOC. She entered the housing sector in 2021 after graduating from Queen’s University with a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. She previously attended the University of Waterloo where she completed a Bachelor of Environmental Studies with a specialization in land development planning. Ellen has experience in consulting, municipal and provincial planning, and academic research. She has been recognized for awards by the Canadian Institute of Planners and Ontario Professional Planning Institute.

Alison Elliott is a Development Project Coordinator for Cahdco and CCOC. In 2021, she obtained her Bachelors of Environmental Studies in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo. Through her degree, Alison gained experiences as a project manager in the international non-profit sector and in planning at the municipal level. Though emerging in the field, Alison is excited and committed to working in affordable housing.
