President

Graeme Hussey is the development manager for CCOC and president of Cahdco. He is the co-creator of Broadening the Base, a collaboration to create land and finance mechanisms to develop affordable rental housing, and is currently a member of the Housing Services Corporation Regeneration and Asset Sustainability committee and the board of the Ottawa Alliance to End Homelessness. Graeme’s educational background is in environmental engineering and project management, and he has 15 years’ experience developing and managing social enterprises in the affordable housing, social investment, and food security sectors. Graeme’s leadership has been recognized by the Maytree Foundation, Ontario Co-operative Association and Toronto Food Policy Council.

Melissa Estable is a Project Manager for Cahdco and CCOC. She has a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and began her career working bilingually as an apprentice Architect in Montreal and Southern France. Returning to Ottawa in 2014, she brings experience from Vancouver where she worked as an Intern Architect, Development Consultant and LEED Sustainability Consultant. Her experience with BC social purpose real estate development projects with budgets up to $22.5 million makes her a great fit for CCOC and Cahdco. Melissa believes that housing is a fundamental human right and that collaboration is required to achieve the goal of providing homes for all.

Jasmine Tranter is a Project Manager working for Cahdco and CCOC. Jasmine has experience in land use planning, project management and research in securing tenure rights to land. She has the ability to articulate issues to a wide variety of audiences and has a passion for promoting projects that encourage social equity. She is a Candidate Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Cynthia is a Project Manager at CCOC working on development projects for Cahdco clients. Cynthia has experience in land-use planning, community planning, project coordination, policy research and analysis (environmental, planning and sustainable development), and environmental management systems. She is Candidate Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Kiefer Maracle is the Development Support for Cahdco. His educational background is in environmental studies, geography, geomatics, earth science, and psychology. As a student at Carleton University, he focused on the socioeconomic challenges of the urban landscape. It was through studying this issue that he became aware of CCOC and Cahdco. Kiefer has a strong desire to help create diverse and resilient communities. In his role as Development Support, Kiefer hopes to engage in every opportunity to grow professionally while furthering his understanding of the sector and contributing to the facilitation of its growth.

Dennis Carr is currently the principal of DCarr Community Solutions, a development consulting firm specializing in the creation of not-for-profit affordable housing and social facilities. From 2009 to 2014, Dennis was Assistant Director of Social Infrastructure for the City of Vancouver. Prior to this he was Manager of Development and Construction for CCOC, where he helped to establish Cahdco. He has been involved in a variety of initiatives relating to housing affordability, neighbourhood revitalization and alternative investment strategies. Dennis is a LEED Accredited Professional, has a Graduate Diploma in Community Economic Development, and sits on the City of Ottawa’s Urban Panel Committee of Adjustment.

Senior Project Manager

Tim Terrell is a senior project manager and consultant for Cahdco and CCOC. He has 25 years experience in residential, development, civil, ICI commercial, institutional, construction, and project management industry. Timothy is a graduate Construction Engineering Technologist, is Gold Sealed Certified by the Canadian Construction Association as a Professional Project Manager in General Contracting since 2001, and a Professional Project Manager by PMI, since 2005. He is also a member of the Canadian Green Council, is LEED trained, and has managed several LEED buildings. His broad range of clients include: the City of Ottawa Non-Profit Housing Corporation, Minto Homes, Claridge Homes, Public Works & Government Services Canada, and Environment Canada. The cumulative budget of projects he has managed is in excess of $800 million dollars.

Abra Adamo is an urban geographer working on a post-doctoral fellowship in partnership with Cahdco and CCOC to examine planning-related barriers to affordable housing development in Ottawa. Through her research, she identifies promising practices in Canada and internationally that use the planning policy and tools to enable the creation of affordable housing by non-profit housing providers alone, and in partnership with the private sector development industry. Abra completed her PhD in geography and environmental studies at Carleton University in 2012. Formerly she was based at the University of Ottawa where she was the Lead Researcher and National Coordinator of a four-city study examining the development and implementation of municipal plans to end homelessness in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
